Exchange Service Benefits Back
The Club offers exchange services to our members who own timeshare or other condominium interest that are usable in weekly increments. This benefit is offered free of charge and there are no annual dues associated with the program. The exchange fee structure is significantly lower than most national companies and a very flexible upgrade policy allowing members to exchange into larger units and different seasons at nominal rates. The complete terms and conditions for use of this benefit can be found on the member website or can be requested by calling Value Escapes members services.
“Vacation Week” - An interval interest such as a timeshare unit, condominium property, lease, cooperative, or vacation club interest, that allows uninhibited, transferable access to a full-week of accommodations at a resort property.
“Vacation Week Credit” - The credit value assigned by the Club to the Vacation Week you deposited.
“Home Resort” - The property where your original Vacation Week is located.
“Host Resort” - The property where your requested Vacation Week is located.
“Exchange Request” - A properly executed request for a Vacation Week.
“Confirmation” - The Club secures a Vacation Week that meets the requirements of your Exchange Request.
1) To use the Club’s Exchange Services, you must first deposit your Vacation Week by completing and signing a Vacation Week Deposit Contract. These forms can be requested from the Condo Services Department at 1-800-204-4788.
Mail your Deposit Contract to:

When the Club receives your signed Deposit Contract, a value for your Vacation Week is determined and you are assigned a Vacation Week Credit. You may then use your Vacation Week Credit to exchange for any other Vacation Week of comparable value within the Club. Size and Season Upgrades are permissible. Your Vacation Week Credit is valid for one year from the issue date.
2) You may deposit your Vacation Week from a minimum of 120 days in advance up to 12 months in advance of the week’s arrival date. All maintenance fees and taxes must be paid and accepted by the Home Resort for the Vacation Week being deposited. Until the week’s arrival date becomes less than 90 days away, the deposited Vacation Week is available exclusively for confirming an Exchange Request. At this 90-day period, the Club may at its discretion, continue to make the Vacation Week available for an Exchange Request, trade the Vacation Week with an outside company, make the Vacation Week available to other members through the Club’s condominium program, or utilize the Vacation Week in another manner.
3) If you own a “floating-time” or any non-unit-specific interval, you must first obtain a reservation for a specific interval at your Home Resort before you can deposit a Vacation Week with the Club. In some cases, the Club may already have or can make arrangements with your Home Resort that could eliminate this procedure on your part, allowing the Club to reserve a Vacation Week on your behalf. In the event you elect to have the Club reserve a week for you, the Club must first secure a Vacation Week from your Home Resort prior to assigning you a Vacation Week Credit.
4) After depositing a Vacation Week with the Club, you may not offer that Vacation Week to another exchange company, rental service, or any other entity or person for any reason whatsoever. Similarly, if you decide to sell your Vacation Week after depositing it with the Club, you must notify any potential purchasers in writing of its disposition as being on deposit with the Club.
5) You will be held responsible by the Club for any loss the Club incurs as a result of a deposited Vacation Week not being available for occupancy per the terms and conditions of deposit contract. All costs resulting from denial of access to a deposited Vacation Week including, but not limited to, substitute accommodations, shall be your responsibility. When using this service, please make sure you or your spouse have not already deposited your Vacation Week with someone else.
1) You may utilize your Vacation Week Credit to place an Exchange Request and confirm a Vacation Week of equal or lesser value (without regard to upgrades) at any Value-Escapes Destination. The arrival date for any confirmed Vacation Week must be no later than the expiration date of the Vacation Week Credit being used to confirm the request.
2) For Exchange Requests within the continental United States, your request must be received by the Club at least 60 days in advance of the first day of the arrival date for the requested Vacation Week. For exchange requests outside the continental United States, the club must receive your request at least 90 days in advance.
3) Many resorts will allow confirmations up to 12 months in advance of the arrival date. Therefore, we urge you to place your Exchange Request as far in advance as possible in order to increase the likelihood of confirmation. Because the Exchange Service is based on a constantly changing inventory of Vacation Weeks, the longer you give the Club to work on an Exchange Request, the greater the probability of its confirmation.
4) Before you can place an Exchange Request:
a. You must be current on all amounts payable to the Club.
b. All fees payable on your Vacation Week must be paid in full to your Home Resort or other entity before you can deposit your Vacation Week with the Club.
c. You must complete, sign, and submit an Exchange Request Form. These forms can be requested from the Condo Services Department at 1-800-204-4788.

A $50 Exchange Fee must be received by the Club before an Exchange Request is activated. If an Exchange Request is not confirmed, the fee is returned to you.
After placing an Exchange Request, you will be notified by telephone when a Confirmation of your request has been secured. If you elect not to accept the Request Confirmation, you will forfeit the $50 exchange fee (upgrade fees are not forfeited), but you are encouraged to place another Exchange Request.
Upon acceptance of the Confirmation, you will be mailed a Request Confirmation Notice that includes all check-in instructions. This notice must be presented to the Host Resort at check-in, so please retain it for this purpose. Please also remember that the Host Resort may reassign the unit number upon check-in; plus as a guest, you must abide by the rules and regulations of the Host Resort. You are responsible for the conduct and actions of yourself, your family, and guests.
The Host Resort may also require a security, key, telephone, cleaning, or other deposit, and as a guest you are responsible for any and all damages incurred, including replacement of missing items.
If your Exchange Request is not confirmed within 7 days prior to the start of the latest Vacation Week arrival date requested, your Exchange Request is considered unconfirmed.
The current Exchange Fee of $50 is payable at the time you place an Exchange Request. Members receiving Request Confirmations may also be responsible for any bed tax, transient occupancy tax, or any similar charge that may be imposed by any governmental authority. As previously noted, Members may also be required to pay a security, key, telephone, and/or other similar deposits, as well as cleaning and other fees, upon check-in at a Host Resort.
The current Season Upgrade fee of $100 is payable at the time you place an Exchange Request. This fee allows you to place an Exchange Request for a Vacation Week that is one season higher in value than your Vacation Week Credit (the value you received when you deposited your Vacation Week).
The current Unit Size Upgrade fee of $100 is payable at the time you place an Exchange Request. This fee allows you to place an Exchange Request for a Vacation Week that is one-bedroom larger (or from a studio to a one-bedroom) and therefore higher in value than your Vacation Week Credit.
All exchange requests are based on Value-Escapes destinations (See Appendix). Should you request an Advantage Destination, an additional upgrade fee may be required and will be discussed with you at the time of your request.
The Club’s Exchange Service is based primarily upon the value, expressed as a Vacation Week Credit that the Club assigns to Vacation Weeks deposited for exchange. The Club utilizes industry standards for assigning a value to your week, and that value is expressed to you as a Vacation Week Credit. The value of the Vacation Week Credit determines the amount of purchasing power you have (not including Seasonal or Size upgrades) when placing an Exchange Request. The value of your deposited Vacation Week can be adjusted from Industry Standards by a number of factors, including the timeliness of your deposit, the availability of comparable accommodations at a given time, member demand, the location, time of year, size, and sleeping capacity of the Vacation Week being deposited. A Vacation Specialist will review all aspects of your Vacation Week Credit with you once the Club receives your deposit contract.
Seasons: The Club recognizes 3 distinct time periods or seasons that affect the value of Vacation Weeks deposited with the Club. These time periods are: High Season, Mid Season, and Low Season. These seasonal designations are based on generally recognized geographical seasons, Chamber of Commerce designations, and generally accepted classifications within the industry.
Unit Size: The size and sleeping capacity of the Vacation Week you deposit with the Club will affect the value of the Vacation Week Credit you receive. In other words, a two-bedroom unit for a particular arrival date is worth more than a one-bedroom unit at the same resort for the same arrival date.
Exchange Priority: Confirmations are based strictly on the availability of the areas requested, week requested, Vacation Week Credit Value, Upgrade Fee commitment (Season & Size), and time the member’s request is received. In other words, based on the time you place your Exchange Request, you receive the first available Vacation Week that matches your request. You do not have to worry about another member with a higher valued Vacation Week being able to “move to the front of the line” as with other exchange programs.
Confirmation Rejections and Cancellations: The Club reserves the right to consider an Exchange Request “fulfilled” if you decline a Confirmation that matches your Exchange Request. If after being offered a Confirmation on an Exchange Request you wish to decline the Confirmation, but place another Exchange Request, it will be considered a new Exchange Request. If after accepting a Confirmation you wish to cancel that Confirmation, you must do so in writing, within 7 days of the arrival date of the confirmed Vacation Week. In such cases, all confirmation fees (including Season and Size fees) are non-refundable however, the Club will credit you with a new Vacation Week Credit if it is able to utilize the surrendered Vacation Week.
Basis for Exchanges: All Confirmations are provided on a space-available basis without any guarantee of fulfillment of specific Exchange Requests. The more flexibility you give the Club with your Exchange Request, the greater the chance of confirmation.
Loss of Use and Occupancy: Except as specifically set out herein, there are no circumstances whereby you can lose the opportunity for the use and occupancy of a Vacation Week when you have submitted a fully completed and signed Exchange Request Form and have complied with all the terms and conditions of this service. You will receive either the requested Exchange Request, or you will be provided with an additional opportunity to place an Exchange Request. You may lose the opportunity for the use and occupancy of a Vacation Week if you deposit your Vacation Week with the Club and do not place an Exchange Request within 12 months of the deposit date. Additionally, if you do not comply with your Home Resort requirements, you may lose the right to use a Vacation Week for a particular year.
Using the Club’s Exchange Services is as easy as one, two, three!
1) Complete and submit a Vacation Week Deposit Form to deposit your week with the Club Exchange within 3 - 12 months of arrival date to receive A Vacation Week Credit.
2) Place an Exchange Request (either simultaneously or later) for a week at any Value-Escapes Destination of equal value or with upgrades to a higher season or larger unit.
3) You will be notified of your Confirmation.
